- ACCESS SPEED: Accessing a backup created by GWAVA
Reload can be done in a matter of two minutes, not several hours or days as is
the case with most solutions.
- EASY RESTORATION OF ITEMS: Users can
access GroupWise data from Reload in two different manners. They can access
a GroupWise post office backup in "Restore Mode" or "Access Mode". In
Restore Mode when a user is connected to the Reload server, the user can use
the
File|Open Backup feature in the GroupWise 7.0.1 or greater client. With this feature, the
users will
only see the items in their backed up mailbox that are not currently in their
live mailbox. The user then needs to highlight the item(s) to be restored and
select Action|Restore. In Access Mode users will see all
message items in their mailbox that are in the backup. In Access Mode a user
uses the Archive feature within GroupWise to restore items to their mailbox.
In Access Mode a user can also export address books, or even access backed up
documents from GroupWise Document Management.
-
EASE OF ACCESS: Accessing the GWAVA Reload server is as easy as pointing any GroupWise
client to the IP
address and port of the POA running on the GWAVA Reload server. No special
client software is needed. Users do not need file system rights to a
Restore Area for example.
When Reload is used as a Restore Area, the users only need to know their
current password. Even if the users password was different at the time
that the backup was taken, the user only needs to know their current password.
For users on a GroupWise post office that is Linux based there is an added
bonus. Users do not need to connect to the Reload server, they simply select
File|Open Backup while connected to their live post office. The POA for their
live post office can access the hot backups on the Reload server.
- SELF-SERVICE BACKUP ACCESS: Reload has a feature called
Auto-Reload. With
Auto-Reload turned
on, the most recent backup for a post office is made available for immediate client
connections
without any need for the administrator to access the GWAVA Reload server and
activate the
most recent backup for client connections.
- SECURITY: The data backed up on a GWAVA Reload server is kept in
it's native (very
secure)
GroupWise format. Nothing is ported to a different database type.
